Terms of Service
Last updated: May 16, 2026
By creating an account or using Collab.fm, you agree to these terms. They're meant to be readable; if anything is unclear, email us — see the contact section at the bottom.
Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your password secure.
- You agree to provide accurate information (real email, a username that isn't obviously someone else's name).
- You're at least 13 years old.
- One person per account. Don't share credentials.
Your content
You keep ownership of the playlists, descriptions, bios, shelf picks, and recommendations you create. By posting public content, you grant Collab.fm the right to display it to other users of the service as needed to operate the features (e.g., showing your playlist on someone else's discover page).
Collab.fm doesn't store actual music audio. Tracks are references (title, artist, service ID) that link back to your music service.
Acceptable use
Don't do this stuff:
- Harass, threaten, or impersonate other users.
- Use the service to send spam, scams, or phishing.
- Try to break, probe, or exploit the service.
- Scrape or abuse the APIs in a way that interferes with normal use.
- Upload illegal content or content you don't have rights to.
- Use someone else's account or evade an account suspension.
We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these rules.
Third-party music services
When you connect Spotify or YouTube Music, you're also agreeing to those services' terms. We use their official APIs and follow their developer policies. We can only do what those services permit; if they remove a feature or change their terms, ours may change too.
Availability and changes
Collab.fm is a small project run by an individual. We try to keep it running, but it may have downtime, bugs, or experimental features. We may add, remove, or change features at any time. If we ever shut it down, we'll give reasonable notice and a chance to export your data.
No warranties
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of data loss.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Collab.fm and its operator aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. If you do somehow win a claim against us, our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past twelve months — which, for a free service, is zero.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from your settings page. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or create risk for the service or other users. On termination, your data is removed as described in the privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
If we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top and surface a notice in the app. Continuing to use the service after changes means you accept them.
